The personal blog of Matt Briggs. I don’t believe section is intended for use in the header of and article and I’m not sure what this adds to the semantics of the document. The datetime attribute could also be added to the time element.

The “preheader” section of the header refers to the date posted and the author. I believe that is a logical part of the header, so section is more appropriate then div.

Also, the site looks totally broken in anything other then FF3.6 or anything webkit, due to some CSS3 stuff I am using. There is a javascript notification if you visit the site on an unsupported browser, I am curious as to why the screenshot was taken using one.

Ok, so after reading about section here http://html5doctor.com/the-section-element/, I’ll agree that section doesn’t belong where I have it. I’ll add datetime to time as suggested :)

I still stand by the “why the hell did you use an unsupported browser for the screenshot” comment.

Matt, re the browser that’s just what I always use. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to go grabbing screenshots from different browsers for every site. If you would like to provide screenshots feel free to send them through tho ;)

Also FF3.6 is still in beta so surely FF3.5 should still be supported? It is the most recent release of FireFox or have I missed a release?

    Cheers

The blog engine was a bit of a learning experience in a few areas, one of them being HTML5 and CSS3. background-size is one of those things that will make our life easier (since it lets containers with background images scale), so I wanted to use it, and sort of figured that I wouldn’t really have many visitors until at least 3.6 came out anyways.

I don’t mind sending a screenshot, but where should I send it to?

Hi Matt, just send them to hello [at] html5gallery .com – if they can be in the right size that would make my like easier too. (690 x 505 and 330 x 190.

    Cheers
