A site that creates a ticker bar for any given twitter username, and provides code to use in a web page.

A fairly straightforward site from a markup point of view with no major errors, although the script and stylesheet link elements could lose the type attribute, small could be used in the footer to wrap the copyright notice, and type="email" would work in the contact form.

A social service from Russia.

The login and register forms use new HTML5 form attributes required and autofocus, although the placeholder text is actually the elements’ labels manipulated with JavaScript. It would have been nice to see placeholder used alongside feature detection to have a JavaScript fallback for non-supporting browsers. The outline shows that Вход в систему (translates as “login”) is the document title. This could be fixed by using an h1 to wrap the logo.

section shouldn’t be used to wrap content – this is the job for the semantically meaningless div. However, the categories on the homepage (most aesthetic, most original etc) could be wrapped in sections as they break up the content into naturally titled areas. small would be appropriate for the disclaimer at the top of the page.

Collectivus, a place to seek out and report Thingies. With no RSS feed on the homepage, it seems odd to have used the article element. The section‘s would probably have been enough on their own.

A compendium to help you discover related information that’s found all over the Internet. The “I’m curious, tell me more” headline is sat outside a section but would benefit from being moved inside. Also the latest updates would be better as articles rather than the introduction area.

A web app that pulls through tweets. I’d like to see the markup within the figure element updated to reflect the spec (though who knows if this is the best solution or if it’s here to stay) and use dt/dd.

Photo and video sharing site, Dropshots has been created using HTML 5. Please note that it’s only the homepage that is built using HTML 5. Again good to see HTML 5 being implemented on sites other than blogs.
